Throughout the year, Glastonbury Abbey hosts a number of gatherings that bring our wider community together in support of the monastery and its mission.
These events help sustain the life of the Abbey and make it possible for us to continue offering a place of prayer, quiet, and hospitality to all who seek it. They also create opportunities for friends—old and new—to gather in a spirit of generosity, connection, and shared purpose.
Whether you join us on the course, bid in the auction, or browse the work of local artisans, your participation directly supports the monks and the many people who come here seeking rest, guidance, and renewal.

Three-Part Symposium "Magnifica Humanitas"

Glastonbury Abbey Institute is delighted to present a three-night virtual symposium on Magnifica Humanitas (“Magnificent Humanity”), Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical and a major new Church document addressing human dignity in the age of artificial intelligence. The symposium will be held virtually on Tuesdays, September 8, 15, and 22 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Each session will examine sections of the five-chapter encyclical and invite participants to consider how Catholic social teaching can inform contemporary debates about artificial intelligence, human dignity, and shared responsibility.
September 8: Introduction, Overview and Chapters one and two on Humanity and Social teaching of the Church with Fr. Sam Sawyer, SJ, Editor of America Magazine.
September 15: Chapters three and four on Technology and AI with Fr. Thomas Reese, SJ, analyst for Religion News Service and commentator for National Catholic Reporter.
September 22: Chapter Five on Technology, war and violence; conclusions with Michael Sean Winters, columnist for NCR and The Tablet.
This program is presented online only. Registration is required in order to receive the Zoom information necessary to participate. Suggested donation $20 each session or $50 for all three. Our Annual Auction is a celebration of generosity and community, held both online and in person.
Each year, friends of the Abbey contribute an extraordinary range of items and experiences. The result is a lively, welcoming event that invites everyone to participate—whether by bidding, donating, or simply stopping by.
Proceeds directly support the life of the Abbey and its ministry of hospitality.

Art Fair

Our annual Art Fair brings together over 20 artisans offering handmade goods ranging from textiles and jewelry to photography, cards, and specialty foods.
A longtime favorite in the community, the fair also features:
- Raffle prizes and a 50/50 raffle
- The Abbey knitters and bakers
- A wide variety of unique, locally made items
Pilgrimage to England
May 10-19th, 2027
with Fr. Albrecht, Glastonbury Abbey, and 206 Tours
Since 1999, Glastonbury Abbey has led pilgrimages to sacred sites across Europe and the Holy Land — journeys shaped by prayer, history, and the shared life of the community.
Each pilgrimage offers the opportunity to step away from daily life, to walk with intention, and to encounter God in places shaped by faith across generations.
We are currently preparing for a pilgrimage to England May 10-19, 2027, visiting sites of historical and spiritual significance.
