Upcoming Programs:

January 5, 7 PM:  Commonweal Conversations, Topic: "Just War & Pacifism"    (Virtual)

Christians in countries founded by Christians find themselves in an odd position. Followers of other religions, like Jews and Muslims, have rules in their scriptures for how to govern themselves and others when they hold political power. But the central event in Christian devotion is God’s own political impotence when an enemy empire tortures him to death. Not only does he refuse to resist the soldiers who capture and kill him, but he repeatedly calls his followers to do the same: “If any wish to come after me, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Mark 8:34).

Please register to receive the pre-readings. Click here to register.

January 7, 14, 21, 28, 10:30 AM: Bible Study with Dr. Regina Boisclair, "Paul's Letter to the Galatians" (In Person)

These sessions are in person only and focus on the sacred authors’ intent and not designed to discuss individual insights.  Each course is independent although participants will notice that they build on understandings gained in the process. There will be suggested assignments from the Bible for the second through fourth sessions.

Registration is required for this program. Suggested donation $50 for the four sessions. Click here to register.

January 12, 7 PM: Faith Seeks Understanding with Fr. Timothy Joyce, OSB. (Virtual)

Topic: The Sermon on the Mount

Monthly conversations about faith and belief led by Father Tim as open discussions.  All are welcome: Catholics, former Catholics, non-Catholics, Nones, or just the curious.  Only goodwill and openness to share and listen are needed.  Please register for each date separately and you will receive articles to read before each meeting. Sunday, January 18, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Morcone Center  (In Person)

Food for Thought - "I Have Set Before You Two Roads: Stepping Onto the Path to Peace."

Benedictine Oblates Steve Tumolo and Julene Tegerstrand will share about their recent trip to Rwanda and Kenya. There, they had an up close look at genocide and three decades of healing, reconciliation, and more. They believe there are vital lessons from Rwanda for us in the US today.

Join us after Mass for a presentation from our Oblate community. In person only. No registration required. Donations gratefully received.

Saturday, January 24, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Enneagram One Day Workshop  (In Person)

Facilitated by Ilona O'Connor, at the end of this workshop, you will: have the tools to identify your own Enneagram type, as well as the other eight points of view; develop an appreciation for the diversity of internal habits of attention and how each may move in the direction of higher growth; and be given the resources to continue to explore this multifaceted system.

Ilona O’Connor has been working with the Enneagram system since 1988. Come and learn something new!
