Shultz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>&#8220;Despite Cruelty: Sustaining Hope in a World That Breaks Our Hearts&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Named humanist of the Year&#8221; by the American Humanist Association in 2002, William F. Schulz, a Unitarian Universalist minister, was a leader in the human rights movement for thirty years and, as such, saw humanity at its worst\u2014abuse, torture and killings&#8211;and yet he managed to sustain his faith in humanity.\u00a0 In this presentation he will reflect on how he did that and what part his religious experience played.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This program will be presented in person and via Zoom. We encourage everyone to <a href=\"https:\/\/gacc.retreatportal.com\/events\/f?p=101:2:12543434120379::::PROGRAM_ID:7841\">register online<\/a> for each event even if you plan on attending in person.
