Rather than a comprehensive federal policy, we have a patchwork of state laws, ad hoc legislation, and executive orders, which exacerbates the problem. And neither party has the political will or basic decency to address it. Throughout Donald Trump\u2019s presidency, Commonweal regularly condemned his administration\u2019s \u201cshameful and shameless\u201d immigration policies, including separating families, a particularly heinous act. More recently, Commonweal has challenged President Biden to honor his promise to implement \u201ca more fair and humane\u201d immigration system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This program will be presented via Zoom only.
