SUMMARY:Promoting Wellbeing: Concepts and Choices with John Sheff
DESCRIPTION:Two presentations with John Sheff on the 20th & 27th October:\nPresentation One:  October 20th 2026\n“Pain is Inevitable – Suffering is Optional”\nWhether they are big or small, painful events are unavoidable: relationship breakups, job losses, health crises or the death of a loved one. Suffering comes from our mental reaction to these events – our resistance, judgment, wishing things were different. Using Buddhist and Stoic Philosophy principles, this presentation explores how to choose less suffering, how you can shift your mindset.\nPresentation Two: October 27th 2026\n“Living a Purpose Driven Life”\nHappiness or wellness is strongly linked to living a purpose driven life. A purpose driven life is an intention that you form, an action plan: through self-reflection, identifying what you value, where is your energy;  and experimentation: taking small steps to live this new way of thinking. Using philosophical (Frankl), business (Sinek, Burnet) and religious thinking, this presentation will help you start on the path of building a purpose driven life.\nThis program will be presented in person and via Zoom. Only one registration is required for both presentations.  Click here to register.\n
