Meet the Monks

Fr. Thomas Father Thomas was appointed as Prior-Administrator, effective September 5, 2010, replacing Father Mark Serna of Portsmouth Abbey.  He also serves as the Vocation Director and is responsible for the formation of new monks. Additionally, Fr. Thomas leads the Sunday Liturgy Committee, as well as being active in Prison ministry.  He has given retreats, missions and cursillos.
Br. Daniel Brother Daniel is the Subprior, the administrative assistant to the Prior. He is a member of the Administrator's Council. He is also the Director of the Abbey Center, overseeing and directing its programs and maintenance. Daniel also serves as the abbey's representative to the Hingham-Hull Religious Leaders Association. He is also a member of the Glastonbury Lecture Series committee.
Fr. Timothy

Father Timothy is the compiles calendars for Mass assignments and priest's assignments. A licensed theologian, he is a writer and lecturer. He edits the monthly newsletter and this website, gives spiritual direction, leads pilgrimages and is in charge of the Library and purchase of periodicals. He is liaison to Praesidium in the abbey’s certification as a Safe Place for Children and Adults.  He cares for Mass stipends and is also co-chair of the Glastonbury Lecture Series committee.

Fr. Nicholas Father Nicholas was abbot of the community from 1986-2008. He is now Director of our Retreat Programs and the retreat houses. He gives retreats himself as well as spiritual direction. He is also Oblate Director, and is in charge of maintenance of our buildings.
Fr. Gerald Father Gerald works with the Mass Guild mailings and assists the Business Manager in some record keeping. He does some desktop publishing, particularly the Sunday music bulletin. He is also responsible for car maintenance.
Br. David Brother David is Choirmaster and Organist. He is also infirmarian, on the retreat team, maintains the Guest House, records books read in the refectory and is archivist. Bro. David is secretary of the Chapter and of the legal corporation of the Abbey. He is a member of the Sunday Liturgy Committee.
Br. James Brother James works with Brother Daniel in maintaining the Abbey Center. He also sets up the coffee after Mass on Sundays and for other events. In the summer, he often helps with outdoor work as well.
Fr. Andrew Father Andrew is the Abbey Sacristan. He takes care of the Church and sets up for Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours. Fr. Andrew also handles the Mass Guild correspondence. He teaches Adult Religious Scripture Education classes at the Abbey Center.  Fr. Andrew is a member of the Administrator's Council.  Additionally, he is the liturgical Master of Ceremony for the Abbey.
Fr. John Father John is currently on assignment to pastoral service in the Diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts. He is at present a parochial vicar at the Church of Our Lady of Victories in the town of Centerville on Cape Cod.
Br. Albrecht Brother Albrecht professed temporary vows on July 11, 2012. He entered the Abbey as a postulant September 14, 2009 and completed his canonical Novitiate year on the July 11, 2012. Albrecht (formerly known as Paul) is continuing his formation during the three-year Juniorate phase under the able care of Fr. Nicholas as Formation Director. He maintains the Abbey website and Facebook pages and enjoys providing IT and A/V support to his brother monks.
