
Abbot Nicholas is the head of the community. He presides at Council, Chapter and Community meetings and represents the abbey with the Archdiocese, the Benedictine Confederation and the Swiss-American Congregation, and with business and social groups. He also gives retreats and guides the Oblate chapter.

Father Timothy was appointed Prior by the Abbot. He is a member of the Abbot’s Council. He compiles calendars for Mass assignments, car use and monthly events. A licensed theologian, he is a writer and lecturer. He edits the monthly newsletter, gives spiritual direction, leads pilgrimages and is in charge of the Library and purchase of periodicals. He is liaison to Praesidium in the abbey’s certification as a Safe Place Children and Adults. He also cares for Mass stipends.

Father Gerald works with the Mass Guild mailings. He does some desktop publishing, particularly of our books for the Liturgy of the Hours and of the Sunday music bulletin. He is also responsible for car maintenance.

Brother David is Choirmaster and Organist. He is also infirmarian and secretary for the Capital Campaign. He is liaison to the abbey’s Lincoln School Apartments, on the retreat team, maintains the Guest House, records books read in the refectory and is archivist. Bro. David is secretary of the Chapter and of the legal corporations of the Abbey and the Apartments. He is a member of the Sunday Liturgy Committee.

Father Thomas is the Vocation Director and is responsible for the formation of new monks. Fr. Thomas is also the liturgical Master of Ceremonies and leads the Sunday Liturgy Committee.

Brother Daniel is the monks’ elected representative to the Abbot’s Council and elected representative to the General Chapter. He has recently come home after many years in Boston, where he worked with Haley House, Boston’s Catholic Worker House, and at St. Francis House, where he was pastoral supervisor of volunteers. He is now the Director of the Abbey Center, overseeing and directing its programs and maintenance.

Brother James works with Brother Daniel in maintaining the Abbey Center. He also sets up the coffee after Mass on Sundays and for other events. In the summer, he often helps with outdoor work as well.

Father Andrew is the Abbey Sacristan. He takes care of the Church and sets up for Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours. Fr. Andrew also handles the Mass Guild correspondence. He teaches Adult Religious Education classes at the Abbey. Fr. Andrew does various other duties and projects for Abbot Nicholas.
