Sunday, February 5, 2012 - Monthly Food Collection
Monthly Collection of food for the hungry. On the first Sunday of each month bring bottled, canned or boxed foods to Sunday Liturgy. The Monks will deliver all donations to Wellspring in Hull and/or Hingham Food Pantry. The need for sufficient food to families in near-by communities is vital, especially during these challenging economic times.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 - Special Liturgy Schedule - Monthly Oblate Meeting
Oblate Meeting. All are encouraged to pray Compline with the monks in the Abbey Church, at 7:15 pm, just prior to the meeting. Liturgy Schedule: Vespers at 4:45 pm, Compline at 7:15 pm. Rest of the schedule as usual.

Thursday, February 9, 2012 - Dr. Mark S. Burrows - Listening To Other Voices
Fourth lecture of the 13th season of our Listening to Other Voices Lecture Series. The theme this year is: "Without a Vision, The People Perish: Why a Religious Tradition?". Dr. Mark S. Burrows will give a presentation entitled, "The Mystical Way: Windows Toward A more Inclusive World". Mark is an ordained minister, United Church of Christ, theologian, author of numerous books and articles on mysticism, spirituality, and poetics. He will explore how "the mystical way" is both the soul of Christian life and a way of convergence with those of other religious traditions.

Sunday, February 12, 2012 - Communal Anointing of the Sick
The celebration of the Sacrament of the Sick will take place this Sunday, Feb. 12th, as a part of our regular Sunday liturgy. Reception of the Sacrament is open to anyone who has a chronic disease, a serious illness, facing surgery or is elderly.

Saturday, February 18, 2012 - Pot Luck Supper
The annual Glastonbury Abbey Pot Luck dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6 pm in the Abbey Center. This evening of fabulous food and frivolity is a fun way to become better acquainted with others in the worshipping community. To join in this Mardi Gras-themed frolic, please sign up on the forms that are posted at either entrance to the church. Each person brings an item to be shared at their table.
